Guide — Buying decisions

What a Clay implementation actually costs

Software, data, and services cost components — and how to model them before committing.

Clay implementation cost has three components. Budget all three or the third one surprises you.

1. Platform (Actions)

Clay plans are action-based: Free includes 500 actions/month; Launch starts at 15,000 actions/month ($167/mo bundle at published pricing); Growth starts at 40,000 actions/month ($446/mo bundle); Enterprise is custom. Actions bill every enrichment call, AI run, and CRM/export operation. Estimate: rows × enrichment columns × runs.

2. Data (credits)

Data Credits buy marketplace data and AI: from $0.05 each at entry, cheaper with volume; a fully enriched record typically costs 6–20 credits. Top-ups carry a 30% premium. BYO API keys eliminate the credit cost of that step (the Action remains).

3. Services (one-time + ongoing)

Implementation help ranges from focused workflow builds to full enterprise architecture. Fixed-scope first projects (an audit, a first production workflow, a CRM integration) reduce risk versus open-ended retainers.

Model it: the Cost & Usage Calculator estimates actions, credits, tier costs, and cost per usable record for your scenario, using published pricing checked 2026-11-01.
